Sequence LCC was founded in 2012 by our Director Kathleen Landers LCSW-C, who has been working in the human services field since 1987 and in private practice since 2002. Sequence Counseling and Consulting Services is the the direct service branch of the organization, and the Sequence Institute for Learning and Education serves as our training branch with programs for professionals and the general public alike.
If you've looked through our website you have seen we offer a wide range of services along the scope of life's many areas of tension or transition. These services are offered by our skilled and frankly really nice professional staff.
What holds this all together? You will find the secret in our name and logo, which reflects the FIBONACCI SEQUENCE. Graceful in its simplicity, this mathematical equation of perpetual and balanced growth can be demonstrated in the artistic golden spiral of our logo. Each of us has multiple facets of our lives, and healthy growth and change can occur throughout the 'sequence' of our life, while our essence remains constant.

Sequence is a multi-disciplinary group, supported by therapists, coaches and psychiatric professionals. Our degrees and licenses represent a lovely alphabet of education and experience; MA, MSW, MBA and MD. LCPC, LCMFT, LCSW-C. Our resumes are impressive, but only tell part of the story. It is our character, integrity, enthusiasm and determination to help improve the lives of others and our willingness to go the extra mile that sets us apart. SEQUENCE recognizes that the care of you and your family members is our mission. While our providers are experts in their specialty areas, we strive to maintain our fees in the mid-range of what our colleagues charge locally. We endeavor to be transparent about fees, and fair.
Sequence does not accept direct payment from any insurance company, but rather from the individuals served. Mental health services are reimbursable to the extent allowed by individual insurance plans for "out-of-network" benefits. Your service provider or our administrative staff will provide you with assistance in determining your mental health insurance coverage.
Career coaching, including resume writing, may be tax deductible. Please contact your tax adviser for specifics.
Executive Coaching may be covered by your employer.
Our rates for services vary by provider and length of service. The rate range is listed below:
Psychiatric Services
- Psychiatric Services Initial Consultation 60 minutes: $375.00
- Medication Consultation: 30-45 minutes: $180.00-260.00
Mental Health Services
- Individual Therapy 45 - 60 minutes: $160.00 - $190.00
- Couples Therapy 60 - 90 minutes: $200-$262.50
- Group Therapy 60 minutes: $75.00
Career and Workplace Services
- Career Coaching 60-75 minutes $185.00 - $200.00
- Executive Coaching 60 minutes $250.00

Coaching Services may be offered as part of a tiered level of services, please see our coaching section for more details.
All fees may be adjusted based upon need. Please speak with your provider to discuss a sliding scale option.
SEQUENCE accepts checks, cash and credit cards. Fees are due at the time of service or by prepayment. Credit card information can be kept on file, and is required when using remote or teletherapy services.
A $4.00 convenience service fee is charged for the use of credit cards, to offset the merchant fees incurred.

Our spacious and attractive main office is located in a park-like setting, with views overlooking the wooded Cabin John Creek.
Located near the intersection of Montrose and 270, we are close to Park Potomac, Bethesda, and Rockville. Via 270, Norbeck or Montrose. We are within easy commuting of Gaithersburg, Olney, and North Silver Spring.

CEDAR HOUSE:
8607 CEDAR STREET, SILVER SPRING, MD 20910
Located steps from the urban hub of Silver Spring, our offices are in a two-story grey brick house. Quiet and private, our waiting room boasts a working fireplace and our backyard meditation garden is available to our clients during sessions. Our Sequence Institute meeting room is located at this site, for many of our wellness and professional development workshops.
Located between Colesville Road and Wayne Ave., our office is within 4 blocks of the Redline metro and accessible by Ride on Bus. Bikes may be locked near the side entrance.
We are easily reached from Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Takoma Park, Northwest DC, Silver Spring and College Park MD.
Metered street parking is available and garage parking at the Ellsworth Garage is located within a block of our building. Parking rates are $1.00 per hour.
REMOTE SERVICES
Our coaching services are frequently offered by phone or video session for professionals, though office hours are also available.
Many of our individual, couples and group therapy services are offered through a HIPPA compliant (encrypted for privacy) teletherapy system for those individuals outside of the region for travel or work or in some cases school, please contact your service provider to discuss the details of this service option, as we do follow best practice guidelines for offering online therapy services to our clients.

Sequence has office locations in the Rockville and Silver Spring areas of Montgomery County MD, with 6 consultant offices in Rockville and 4 in Silver Spring.
These private, well appointed offices may be available for hourly or full day rental based upon the current occupancy needs of the Sequence providers.
In addition, our Silver Spring site includes a large training room configurable with or without tables, and has a capacity for 20 (seated lecture style) This space is available for rent in 3 hour blocks of time. Rates can include a large screen monitor with internet access & blueray player. Additional rental options include a second smaller conference room on the same floor, a warming kitchen, and outdoor garden space. Accessible by public transportation and within yards of a public parking garage, this light filled space is a wonderful place to host a professional event. Sequence is a multi-disciplinary practice offering highly competitive compensation to expert independent consultants with a range of professional backgrounds. We provide consistent high-quality administrative support, training support, and autonomy of practice in the context of a supportive professional community.
Our service providers work in beautiful offices convenient to many neighborhoods of Montgomery County Maryland and Northwest Washington DC. Providers develop their own caseload with extensive marketing support tailored to their areas of expertise.
Weekly clinical case peer supervision, cross-referrals, electronic health records, professional communication systems, teletherapy support, conferences, happy hours, study groups and co-leadership of events and programs lend themselves to a positive and collaborative work culture.
